Product Overview
ADDSiL™ 2152 is a difunctional reactive silicone oligomer with terminal methacrylate groups. Free-radical copolymerization with compatible unsaturated monomers and oligomers incorporates silicone segments into the polymer or crosslinked network. The supplied TDS reports an approximate molecular weight of 2,000.
Key Features
- Reactive methacrylate end groups for free-radical copolymerization.
- Chemically incorporates silicone segments into compatible polymer systems.
- Can improve surface slip, smoothness, hydrophobicity and release characteristics.
- Can improve flexibility of the polymer matrix.

Selected values from the original TDS. Refer to that document for conditions and whether values are typical or specification limits.
Typical Applications
- Silicone-modified acrylic and methacrylic resins.
- Functional coatings and printing inks.
- UV-curable systems.
- Unsaturated polyester resins.
Technical Considerations
Copolymerize with compatible acrylate, methacrylate and other unsaturated monomers using an appropriate free-radical process. For silicone-modified (meth)acrylic polymers, select the monomers, initiator and solvent where required, and suitable reaction conditions. In UV-curable formulations, use as a reactive silicone component with compatible unsaturated oligomers and monomers.
The TDS does not specify a universal addition level. Determine compatibility, cure response and final film performance in the intended resin system. Reported physical values are typical, not specifications. Keep sealed in a cool, dry, ventilated place away from heat and direct sunlight; the stated unopened shelf life is 12 months. Consult the current SDS before handling.
