Product Overview
ADDSiL™ 4040 improves interfacial bonding between organic resin systems and inorganic surfaces. The supplied TDS particularly identifies glass and also lists metal, ceramic and mineral substrates. In suitable coating systems, it can participate in interfacial reactions and contribute to adhesion and mechanical performance.
Key Features
- Promotes adhesion to inorganic substrates.
- Particularly relevant to glass and mineral surfaces.
- Enhances interfacial bonding in suitable coating systems.

Selected values from the original TDS. Refer to that document for conditions and whether values are typical or specification limits.
Typical Applications
- Polyurethane, epoxy and alkyd coatings on glass, metal, ceramic and mineral substrates.
Technical Considerations
The recommended addition level is 0.1–1.0 wt% based on the total formulation. Determine the optimum level through application testing in the selected coating system.
Reported values are typical, not specifications. Keep the container tightly closed in a cool, dry, ventilated place. The unopened shelf life stated in the TDS is 12 months from manufacture. Refer to the current SDS before use.
