Product Overview
KOBOND™ 3063 uses block-copolymer technology with pigment-affinic groups to wet and stabilize pigments. The supplied TDS describes lower millbase viscosity, improved flow, higher pigment loading and improved storage stability of pigment concentrates.
Key Features
- Wets and stabilizes inorganic and organic pigments.
- Particularly suitable for carbon black.
- Helps reduce millbase viscosity and improve flow.
- Can reduce grinding and dispersion time.
- 100% active and solvent-free, as described in the TDS.
Physical Properties
| Property | Reported value |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Yellow, clear liquid |
| Active content | 100% |
Selected values from the original TDS. Refer to that document for conditions and whether values are typical or specification limits.
Typical Applications
- Carbon black and other pigment dispersions in medium- to high-polarity formulations.
- Pigment concentrates containing inorganic pigments, titanium dioxide or organic pigments.
- UV-curable formulations.
Technical Considerations
Add to the millbase before grinding. The TDS starting levels are amounts of additive as supplied, based on pigment mass: titanium dioxide 5–6%, inorganic pigments 10–15%, organic pigments 30–50%, and carbon black 50–100%. These percentages are not based on total formulation weight. Optimize for the pigment type and the intended formulation by laboratory trials.
Reported properties are typical, not specifications. Store sealed in a ventilated place away from heat sources. The stated shelf life is 24 months from production. Refer to the current SDS before handling.
