Gloved worker smoothing an unmarked elastic sealant bead at a glass-to-metal construction joint.

Product Overview

Terminal alkoxysilane groups hydrolyze and condense on exposure to moisture to form a crosslinked siloxane network. The TDS describes one- and two-component formulation routes.

Key Features

  • Base polymer for moisture-curing elastic sealing.
  • High-modulus formulation direction.
  • Can be formulated without solvents or free isocyanates.

Selected values from the original TDS. Refer to that document for conditions and whether values are typical or specification limits.

Typical Applications

  • Moisture-curing elastic sealant for construction glass-to-metal joints.

Technical Considerations

Use as a base polymer in a qualified complete formulation; control moisture exposure during storage and processing. Final adhesion, modulus and curing must be verified for the substrate and joint design. Typical values are not specifications; consult the SDS.
